Scaling a feature in 3D

The Scale command is used to change the size of a feature you have selected. It works by changing the size dimension of the existing feature to the desirable scale, either bigger or smaller.

Scale is supported for lines, polygons, and multipatches, but not point geometry. You can only scale a point feature if it has been symbolized with an imported 3D model, such as a multipatch.

Steps:
  1. Click the Edit Placement Edit Placement Tool tool on the 3D Editor toolbar.
  2. Click the feature or features you want to select to scale. Hold down the SHIFT key while clicking features to select additional features.
  3. Optionally, use the Edit Placement tool to interactively drag a selection box around the feature(s) you want to move.
  4. Scale the features by doing one of the following:
    • Click the 3D Editor menu and click Scale.
    • Press the C key after selecting the features.

    The Scale dialog box appears.

  5. Type in the desired scale factor.
  6. Press ENTER.
TipTip:

Another way to scale features is to interactively resize them using the Edit Placement tool. Right-click and drag, while holding the SHIFT key, to interactively scale a feature directly in the 3D view.
