Adding an image service definition

LegacyLegacy:

ArcGIS 10 is the last release of the stand-alone ArcGIS Image Server product. The image service definition (.ISDef) has been replaced by an improved geodatabase data model—the mosaic dataset—which can be published as an image service using the ArcGIS Server Image extension.

Steps:
  1. Click Start > Programs > ArcGIS > Image Server > Server Manager 10.

The Image Server Manager window appears. The servers running are listed in the table of contents.

  2. Expand the server node.

The service provider and the services available on the server are displayed.

  3. Click the Services node.

The table on the right pane will be empty if no image services have been added.

  4. Click the Add Service button Add services on the Image Server Manager toolbar.

The Add A Service dialog box is displayed.

  5. Click the browse button next to the Service definition text box to search for the required compiled image service definition file (.ISCDef).

The name of the service is displayed in the Name text box.

  6. You can use the SHIFT key to select more than one service provider in the Service provider(s) list box. This list allows you to add the image service to the selected service providers.
  7. Click OK to close the Add A Service dialog box.

The image service with details is displayed in the table.
