The ArcGIS Server for the Java Platform setup consists of a setup process where you determine what features you would like to install. The setup program will install the files required for these features.
ArcGIS Server can not be installed to the same location as any other ArcGIS product.
No other ArcGIS product can be installed as the ArcGIS Server user.
If ArcGIS Server is installed on a machine, you will only be able to install another ArcGIS product in single-user mode (not in multi-user mode).
Choose the installation steps for your configuration:
Setup log files are generated in the root user's home directory. The two setup log files generated during installation are ArcGISServer_InstallLog.log and ArcGISServer_InstalledFeatures.log.
If the following products are installed on your machine and are a version previous to 9.3, they must be uninstalled before proceeding with the ArcGIS Server for the Java Platform setup.
ArcInfo Workstation
ArcReader standalone
ArcIMS
ArcGIS Server
ArcGIS Server Java ADF
ArcGIS Engine Runtime
ArcGIS Engine Developer Kit
The ArcGIS Server for the Java Platform setup will display a dialog if conflicting versions of these products exist on your machine. If so, you must uninstall these products, then run the ArcGIS setup for the Java Platform again to proceed with your installation.
Before uninstalling ArcGIS Server 9.2, see Upgrading from ArcGIS Server 9.2.
