Choosing basemap layers

When defining the map resources that are to be included inside your mobile project, think about what map data is transactional and what map data is reference or basemap data. For example, for field operations inside a utility, the basemap can be a land base and/or depending on the field workflow, the facilities themselves might also serve as a basemap.

There are four different types of basemap layers that you can add to your project:

1. Street Map
2. Cached Base Map
3. ArcGIS Online Map Service
4. ArcGIS Server Map Service
