Remove a map from your favorites

You can remove maps from your favorites once the map is no longer needed in the favorites list. Keeping this list updated helps you find your current favorite maps. There are three ways to remove a map from your list of favorites. The method you should use depends on where you are in the app:

• While in the Map Hub, you can remove a favorite directly from the list of favorites.
• While viewing a map, you can remove a favorite using the context menu of the map's app bar.
• While viewing the details of a map (either in the Map Hub or in an open map), you can remove a favorite using the details page's app bar.
  Caution:

  If you see add to favorites on the expanded app bar, or the favorite icon, the map is already removed from your favorites. You can only remove a map from your favorites if it is in the favorites list.

Use the favorites list to remove a map from favorites

It is often easiest to manage your favorites from within the list. There, you can remove the ones that are no longer favorites by taking the following steps:

Steps:

1. Go to the Map Hub.
2. Swipe to the maps panel if you are not already there.
3. Tap favorites.

   The favorites page displays.

4. Tap and hold the list entry for the map you want to remove from the favorites list.

   The context menu displays.

5. Tap remove from favorites on the context menu to remove the map from your favorites list.

Use the context menu to remove the currently viewed map from favorites

To remove a map that you are currently viewing from your favorites, use the app bar's context menu, as shown in the following steps:

Steps:

1. While viewing the map, expand the app bar to show the context menu.
2. Tap remove from favorites.

   The app bar collapses. If you expand it again, you will see the text has updated to add to favorites, indicating the map was successfully removed from your favorites.

Use the details page to remove a map from favorites

To add a map that you have not yet opened, but have found, often by searching or browsing maps in the Map Hub, take the following steps:

Steps:

1. Go to the details of the map you want to add to your favorites. For more information, see View map details.
2. Tap favorite .

   The icon updates to show the favorite icon , indicating the map has been successfully removed from your favorites.
