Deployment overview
The Data Appliance for ArcGIS data collections consist of map resources that you can publish on your ArcGIS Server system. These include caches of pre-rendered map tiles, as well as the map documents that reference them. You need these resources in order to create fast-performing services.
Task resources that you can publish on your ArcGIS system are also included in some data collections. Address locator and routing services for North America and Europe are available for your use if you purchased the geocoding and routing options.
The Data Appliance for ArcGIS is delivered on a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device that you can connect to your server. The recommended approach is to publish services directly against the data on the storage device. No copying of files is required.
