Rotating the data frame to true north

Once you have defined the layout to use for the map, you can choose to rotate the data frame to true north and update it accordingly.

The option you choose determines the rotation that will be used for all the map sheets in your map series.

1. Click Rotate to True North.

   True North is a calculation based on the center point of your area of interest (AOI) and the coordinate system of the data frame. A coordinate system other than geographic must be set in order to see any changes to true north values.

2. Click Next.

   The Spatial Reference dialog box appears.
