Convert a coverage to a shapefile

PurposeThis developer sample shows how to convert a coverage into a shapefile.

How to use

If the sample has associated data, you will find that the sample's zip file includes a "data" folder alongside the language folders. However, you will need to update the sample to point to the location of the data once you have extracted all the files.

  1. Run the application, providing two command line parameters: -c [full path to input coverage] and -s [full path to resulting shapefile]. See Additional information for more details on the parameters.

Additional information

The following input parameters need to be specified at the command line:

  • -c [full path to input coverage] (e.g. -c "C:\path\to\coveragename:polygon"), PATH_TO_COVERAGE in Makefile
  • -s [full path to resulting shapefile] (e.g. -s "C:\path\to\shapefile.shp"), PATH_TO_SHAPEFILE in Makefile
