Saving an image service in Image Server Viewer

The ArcGIS Image Server client application allows you to save an image service as an image service reference (.ISRef) file. This .ISRef file can be used to define a service connection and set service properties of the image service. To learn about changing image service properties, see Changing image service properties in Image Server Viewer. You can use this .ISRef file in most client applications to reestablish the image service in its current state.

You can also save the displayed image service data; see Exporting imagery from an image service in Image Server Viewer.

Steps:
  1. Open an image service in Image Server Viewer.
  2. You can save an image service as an image service reference file by two methods:
    • Click the File menu and click Properties. The Service Properties dialog box is displayed. You can change any of the properties and see the change on the image service. Click the Save As button on the Service Properties dialog box.
    • Click the File menu and click Save As.

The Save As dialog box is displayed.

  3. Browse to the desired location where you want to save the .ISRef file.
  4. Type a name for the .ISRef file in the File Name text box.
  5. Click Save.

The .ISRef file is saved at the specified location.
