Installing and uninstalling the ArcGIS Image Server client for MapInfo

The MapInfo client for ArcGIS Image Server is shipped as a single MapBasic executable file called ImageServer.mbx and its accompanying resource file, ImageServer_Icons.dll. After running the MapInfo setup executable file, open the MapInfo application window. The ArcGIS Image Server toolbar is displayed in the MapInfo window.

The installation includes the MapInfo client, as well as the Image Server Viewer application. The Image Server Viewer is a simple client application that allows you to view an image service. It can be used to test your connection with the server.

Installing the MapInfo client

Steps:
  1. Insert the DVD into the computer and navigate to the DVD's contents with Explorer.

    If the autorun option on your machine is turned off, you can launch the DVD by double-clicking the ESRI.exe.

  2. Double-click the ClientInstalls folder.
  3. Double-click the MapInfo Client folder.
  4. If your setup is downloaded from ESRI's Web site, use the following steps:
    1. Download the MapInfo Client and unzip it.
    2. Open the MapInfo Client folder.
  5. Double-click the Setup.msi Windows installer package.
  6. Click Next on the ArcGIS Image Server MapInfo Client Setup dialog box.
  7. Click the Browse button and specify the location where you want to install the ArcGIS Image Server MapInfo client application.
  8. Click Next.

    The application is now ready to be installed.

  9. Click Next to begin the installation.
  10. Click Finish.

    The ArcGIS Image Server MapInfo client is installed on your machine.

Uninstalling the MapInfo client

Steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Click ArcGIS Image Server MapInfo Client in the Currently Installed Programs list.
  4. Click the Remove button.
  5. Click Yes to remove the Image Server components.

    The ArcGIS Image Server MapInfo client is uninstalled from your machine.
