Adding an image service in GeoMedia

The ArcGIS Image Server client provides a dialog box that allows you to add one or more image services to an application and display the service. The image service can be on your system or accessed over the network.

You can access a summary of the image service properties from this dialog box. Alternatively, once the image service is added, you can access all the image service properties and make modifications to some of them, such as the transmission compression.

Steps:
  1. Start GeoMedia.
  2. Click the Add Image Server Connection button Add Image Server Connection button on the ArcGIS Image Server toolbar.

The Add Image Server Connection dialog box is displayed.

  3. Type the name of a server in the Server Name text box. Alternatively, click the Server Name drop-down arrow to select a server in the list.

Image services served with ArcGIS Server can be accessed via HTTP protocol. This is facilitated by typing http:// and the name of the ArcGIS Server in the Server Name text box.

For example, if the server name is TestServer, type http://TestServer in the Server Name text box.

The available services of the selected server are listed.

  4. Double-click an image service in the list to add the image service to the Selected Services list.
  5. Optionally, click the image service in the list and click the Properties button.

The Service Properties dialog box is displayed. This dialog box shows the image service metadata and properties that you can view before opening the image service.

  6. To add an image service reference, click the browse button to navigate to the location of an .ISRef file, click the file, then click Add to add it to the Selected Services list.
  7. To remove an image service from the Selected Services list, click an image service in the Selected Services list, click the Remove button, then click OK.
  8. Click OK to close the Add Image Server Connection dialog box.
TipTip:
The image service is added using the default spatial reference system. You can change the default spatial reference system by changing the Spatial reference system setting on the Service Properties dialog box.
