Certain features in ArcIMS Web ADF for the Microsoft .NET Framework require Windows components or other software to be installed. If those requirements are not met, the feature will not be available for installation. Once the necessary prerequisites are installed, dependent features will become visible. If the features are not available due to missing the dependencies, the installation process will complete successfully without installing any unavailable features.
ArcIMS Web ADF for the Microsoft .NET Framework requires Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework and Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0. The installation process will not proceed until these requirements are fulfilled.
Features with dependencies
Detailed below are features that require Windows components or other software to be installed, as well as the dependencies needed.
ArcIMS Web Manager
The ArcIMS Web Manager feature requires Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). Supported IIS versions are 5.0, 6.0, 7.0.
Specific IIS components must be installed when performing an installation on Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. If these components are not installed, the ArcIMS Web Manager feature will not be available.

Visual Studio Integration
The Visual Studio Integration features require Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or 2008. Supported Visual Studio editions are Visual Studio Standard, Professional, Visual Basic Express, Visual C# Express, Visual Web Developer Express. The Visual Studio edition(s) installed will determine which Visual Studio Integration feature(s) are available. For example, if Visual Basic 2005 Express is installed, the Visual Basic 2005 Express Integration feature will be available.

Unavailable features can be added at a later time by installing the required dependency and then going to Add/Remove Programs -> ArcIMS Web ADF for the Microsoft .NET Framework -> Change -> Modify. The feature that had been unavailable before should now be visible and marked with a red X. Select the feature for installation and follow the on-screen instructions until the installation process has successfully completed. Please note, uninstalling and reinstalling the software is not required.
