What's New in ArcXML

The following changes have been made to ArcXML 1.1 for ArcIMS 9.3 and ArcIMS 9.3.1.

New attributes

• LAYER
  • disable_prerender_clipping
• SCALEBAR
  • adjustscalebarsize
  • scalebarunitlabel (Added at 9.3.1)

New attribute values

• HASHLINESYMBOL
  • The minimum value for interval is 1. Previously, the minimum value was listed as 0.
• SIMPLELINESYMBOL
  • The upper value for width is 500. The previous maximum value was unlimited.

Updates to Metadata Services

• GAZETTEER_ENTRY
  • The delimiter used for the extent attribute has changed. The values of "xmin ymin xmax ymax" are delimited with a space. Previously, a comma was used as the delimiter.
  • The rank attribute accepts values of only 1-26. Letter values (A-Z) are not valid. The documentation was updated to reflect this.
• GET_UUID
  • The count attribute was added to the documentation although this attribute was already valid.
• METADATA_CONTENT
  • The validate attribute default value is "false" rather than "true". The documentation was updated to reflect this.
• METADATA_DATASET
  • The updated attribute is required. The documentation was updated to reflect this.

Other items of note

• GET_IMAGE
  • The returnscale attribute is valid with ArcMap Image Services. Previously, it was valid only with Image Services.
• SPATIALQUERY
  • The attribute order_by is valid only with GET_FEATURES requests to Image Services. It is not valid with GET_IMAGE or GET_EXTRACT requests.
