Informix backups

IBM Informix Dynamic Server provides two utilities for backing up and restoring database server data: ON-Bar and ontape. Both utilities can be used to back up DBMS storage spaces (dbspaces, sbspaces, blobspaces) and logical-log files. Regardless of which IBM Informix backup and restore utility you use, your backup and recovery strategy should include regular, full backup of the following:

• DBMS storage spaces and logical-log files
• Other critical ArcSDE files such as dbinit.sde, dbtune.sde, giomgr.defs, and services.sde
