ArcGIS Mobile application concepts

The ArcGIS Mobile application can be used either on mobile devices running the Windows operating system (XP, Vista, 7) or on mobile devices running the Windows Mobile operating system (Windows Mobile 5 or 6, both touch screen and smart phone).

Depending on the platform you are using, the application will look different. It has been designed specifically for the form factor and its field use. Even though the user experience is slightly different, the functionality is the same, and by understanding key application concepts, you can quickly master both applications.

The ArcGIS Mobile application is composed of two key concepts:

• Tasks
