Find and explore a group

A group contains a collection of maps and a set of members interested in those maps. Each map is either publically available or only available to the members of the group. Browsing the group is an easy way to find these maps. In the Map Hub of the application, you can search for groups, as well as view groups of which you are a member. Once you have found a group of interest, you can view its profile and work with the maps associated with the group.

TipTip:

When working in a browser with your online geographic information system (GIS), membership to groups can be requested and accepted. When a map is authored, it can be shared with a group, giving members of that group access to the map. The map is then included in the list of maps associated with the group. See Participating in groups and Sharing an item with a group.

Search for groups

In the application, you can search for groups by keyword. For details, see Search for maps and groups.

    NoteNote:

If you are not a member of an organization, you will not see the sections for my organization's groups or my organization's public groups.

    TipTip:

If you are a member of an organization, the Groups page uses a jump list. If you tap the heading for any of the sections (my groups, my organization's groups, or my organization's public groups) a list appears that lets you jump directly to any of the sections by tapping it in the jump list. This saves you from having to scroll through all the other groups to reach a particular category of groups.
