Add a map to your favorites

You can add maps to your favorites to make them easy to find. This is useful if there are particular maps that you use on a regular basis. Maps can be added to your favorites while exploring maps before the map is opened, while viewing a map, or while viewing the details of an open map.

Caution:

If you see remove from favorites on the expanded app bar, or the favorite icon, the map is already added to your favorites. You can only add a map to your favorites once.

Add an unopened map as a favorite

To add a map that you have not yet opened, but have found, often by searching or browsing maps in the Map Hub, take the following steps:

Steps:

1. Go to the details of the map you want to add to your favorites. See View details of an unopened map.
2. Tap favorite .

   The icon updates to show the remove favorite icon , indicating the map has been successfully added to your favorites.

Add the currently viewed map as a favorite

To add a map that you are currently viewing, use the app bar's context menu, as shown in the following steps:

Steps:

1. While viewing the map, expand the app bar to show the context menu.
2. Tap add to favorites.

   The app bar collapses. If you expand it again, you will see the text has updated to remove from favorites, indicating the map was successfully added to your favorites.

Add the current map as a favorite from its details

To add a map to your favorites while you have the map open and are viewing its details, take the following steps:

Steps:

1. If you are not already on the map details, view the map details of the open map.
2. Tap favorite .

   The icon updates to show the remove favorite icon , indicating the map has been successfully added to your favorites.
