The Geometry class is not instantiable, but is a superclass for all classes representing different types of geometrical shapes in ArcGIS Explorer; Point, Multipoint, Polygon, Polyline, Envelope, and Multipatch. You can use the GeometryType property to work out the underlying class for any geometry reference without needing to cast to each type in turn.
