Saving an image service as a reference file

An image service layer can always be saved as a layer file (.lyr). However, when the image service was added using the Add Image Server Connection button , you can also save it to an image service reference (.ISRef) file.

Steps:

1. Right-click an image service layer in the ArcMap table of contents and click Save As ISRef File.
2. Browse to a location and type a name to save the file as.
3. Click Save.
