Video layer properties in ArcGlobe
Video layers are, for the most part, a standard layer in your ArcGlobe document. They have a name, display properties, a data source, and will honor their relative position in the draped category in the ArcGlobe table of contents. There are many important properties required for a video layer to display correctly inside ArcGlobe. These properties are defined on both the traditional Layer Properties dialog box and also in the ArcGIS Video (AGV) file as XML tags.
The Layer Properties dialog box manages the general properties for a video layer—such as the layer name, transparency, and visibility distance, just like all other layer types. These properties are stored for each layer whenever the ArcGlobe document (3dd file) or layer file (lyr file) is saved to disk.
Video layers, like many other GIS layers, can also be time-aware. Temporal information for all layer types is managed at the layer level, with the applicable information defined on the Time tab in the Layer Properties dialog. Additional properties that are specific to the video format of Video layers, include a range of details, such as the video's georeferencing information, the playback rate, and the camera's field of view. These details are stored as XML tags in the ArcGIS Video (AGV) file for the layer.
