Setting ArcGlobe to open without any default layers

ArcGlobe allows you to start the application with an empty globe. Without default layers, the globe will appear black and surrounded by the halo used as a background effect. There will be no layers listed in the table of contents such as imagery or elevation layers. There will be however, three categories you can add layers to which include: floating, draped, and elevation.

Steps:
  1. Click Customize and click ArcGlobe Options.
  2. Click the Default Layers tab.
  3. Check Don't use any default layers.
  4. Click OK.
TipTip:
  • Open a new ArcGlobe document to see your updated default layers.
