Copying and pasting an address locator in ArcCatalog
Steps:
- In ArcCatalog or the Catalog window in ArcMap, navigate to the folder or geodatabase that contains the address locator you want to copy.
- To set the relative path of the address locator to its reference data, do the following:
- Right-click the address locator and click Properties.
The Address Locator Properties dialog box opens.
- Click the check box next to Store relative path names in the Address Locator Properties dialog box.
- Click OK to close the dialog box.
- Right-click the address locator and click Properties.
- Right-click the address locator and choose Copy.
- Right-click the folder or geodatabase into which you want to paste the address locator and choose Paste.
If you want to copy an address locator and its reference data and tables from one workspace to another, enabling the relative path of the address locator to its reference data will mitigate errors when rebuilding the address locator.
Tip:
You can drag and drop an address locator to move it from one workspace to another in ArcCatalog.
If the destination workspace is on the same disk, click the address locator you want to move, then drag and drop the address locator onto the destination workspace.
If the destination workspace is on a different disk or network, hold the SHIFT key, then drag and drop the address locator onto the destination workspace.
