CAD feature class properties

To view CAD feature class properties in a Catalog window, expand the CAD dataset and double-click the feature class, or right-click the feature class and click Properties.

General tab

• Name displays the name of the CAD feature class.
• Alias contains the alias name. By default, this is the CAD feature class name.
• Type displays the feature class type.
• Geometry Properties displays the type of values the coordinates contain.

XY Coordinate System tab

• Name displays the name of the coordinate system.
• Details shows additional information about the coordinate system such as the units and datum.
• The Save As button saves the coordinate system to a projection .prj file.

Tip:

To define a coordinate system, use the CAD Feature Dataset Properties dialog box.

Fields tab

• Field Name and Datatype display the CAD attribute fields.
• Field Properties displays the properties of the selected field.

Spatial Index tab

• The Create/Delete Spatial Index check box creates or deletes a spatial index. If a spatial index exists, the tab will display the Delete check box. Conversely, if a spatial index has not been created, the tab will display the Create check box.
