Displaying CAD file extensions in ArcCatalog

By default, file extensions are not displayed in a Catalog window. Viewing file extensions may be useful when browsing for a specific CAD file format. The following steps configure ArcGIS to display file extensions when navigating in a Catalog window.

Steps:

1. Open ArcCatalog.
2. From the pull-down menu, select Customize and click ArcCatalog Options.
3. On the General tab, uncheck Hide file extensions.
4. Click OK.
