Starting ArcGlobe
Steps:
-
If you haven't already, install 3D Analyst. If you did not install 3D Analyst, you can run the ArcGIS installation program again to install it. For details, see Installing ArcGIS Desktop.
To use ArcGlobe, you must have a 3D Analyst license. If you're not sure which ESRI products you are licensed for, you can find out at http://service.esri.com.
-
Start ArcGlobe by clicking Start > All Programs > ArcGIS > ArcGlobe 10.
If this is the first time you started ArcGlobe or if you haven't checked the Do not show this dialog in the future option, the ArcGlobe Getting Started dialog box appears. For details on this dialog box, see Setting the Default Geodatabase.
Otherwise, the ArcGlobe window appears, as shown in the following image.
Now you are ready to work with layers in ArcGlobe.
You can work with 3D Analyst capabilities in other ArcGIS applications, such as ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcScene. For details, see A quick tour of 3D Analyst and enable the 3D Analyst extension.
