What's new in the Basemap Collection
The Data Appliance Basemap Collection 5.0 for ArcGIS has the following improvements and enhancements in addition to those described in the What's new topic for all data collections:
Retired data
The North American Address Locator (TA_Address_NA) geocode service was retired from this collection. It was replaced by the North American Address Locator (TA_Address_NA_10) that also was included in the Data Appliance Basemap Collection 4.0. If you previously used TA_Address_NA, see Removing a geocode service for instructions on how to remove the service from ArcGIS for Server.
Updated data
- The World Street Map was updated with data from DeLorme and NAVTEQ (see the World Street Map service description for specific details). The map was updated as indicated at the following scales:
- 1:591,000,000 to 1:144,000: All areas except Antarctica
- 1:72,000 to 1:18,000: North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, and Southern Africa
- 1:9,000: North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, and Southern Africa
- 1:4,500: United States, much of Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, and Southern Africa

Updated Address Locators
The address locator services now use data from NAVTEQ.
- The European Address Locator (TA_Address_EU) was updated with NAVTEQ Q1 2011 reference data. With an optional license, use this locator to perform single address, reverse, and batch geocoding to find and display addresses on a map.
- The North American Address Locator (TA_Address_NA_10) was updated with NAVTEQ Q4 2010 reference data. With an optional license, use this locator to perform single address, reverse, and batch geocoding to find and display addresses on a map.
Updated Routing data
The routing services now use data from NAVTEQ. With an optional license, use these tasks to create street-level multistop and optimized routes between two or more points to display along with associated driving directions. Routing service changes include the following:
- European Routing (ESRI_Route_EU) was updated with NAVTEQ Q1 2011 reference data.
- North American Routing (ESRI_Route_NA) was updated with NAVTEQ Q4 2010 reference data.
