Removing empty feature layers

When a dataset is loaded into the table of contents, it may contain empty layers. The Remove Empty Feature Layers tool can be used to remove the empty layers from the table of contents, which can be useful if your table of contents contains several layers. For example, if you have loaded 50 layers in the map, you can remove the empty ones so your table of contents only contains layers that have features.

步骤:
  1. Start ArcMap.
    提示提示:

    If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.

  2. If necessary, load data in the map.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production TOC Manager.
  4. Click the Remove Empty Feature Layers button Remove Empty Feature Layers on the Production TOC Manager toolbar.

    The Remove Layers with Empty Feature Classes dialog box appears with all the empty feature classes in the table of contents.

  5. Check the check boxes next to the empty layers you want to remove to the table of contents.
  6. Click OK.

    The layers with empty feature classes are removed, and the table of contents refreshes.
