Creating masks
The Batch Masking tool creates masks based on the rules defined in the Masking Rules Manager dialog box.
- Start ArcMap.ヒント:
If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.
- Add all the necessary masking layers and corresponding feature layers to the Table Of Contents window in your MXD.
-
Make sure that the production properties are set correctly.
Properties include the Product Library Workspace, Production Database Workspace, Data Model Version, Product Class Version, and Instances Maintained. The Data Model Version needs to be set to the AIS Charting model.
- On the main menu, click Customize → Toolbars → Aeronautical Data Management.
-
Click the Batch Masking button on the Aeronautical Data Management toolbar.
The Batch Masking dialog box appears.
Only the Input Layer, Output Layer, and Description columns are displayed. It is important that the description is accurate so that other users can identify the correct rule/layers for which masks will be created. If a rule is not valid for a particular data frame, when that data frame is selected from the drop-down list, the results will show up as red in the grid and will not be selectable. A rule is invalid for a data frame if one or both of the layers the rule uses is missing from the table of contents, or if the input layer has 0 features. A tool tip appears when you hover the mouse pointer over the red text and tells you why the rule is invalid. A reference scale must be set on the data frame to run the Batch Masking tool. If a reference scale is not set, all rules will show up as red and will be invalid for that data frame; you will not be able to create masks for that data frame.
