Improve Territories

Once you have created territories, you can improve the territories with Balance territories or Adjust territory parameters.

Balance territories starts the balancing process from the current state of territories using their existing centers and shape. Well-balanced territories are required for this command. For example, this would be useful if territories were designed manually or imported and need to be properly balanced, or territories were created automatically and the territory shape needs improvement for balance by changing the Compactness value or other balancing options.

Decreasing the maximum distance value, capacity values, or other constraints will not fix territories to meet these parameters, because the Balance territories command uses existent territories shapes. Increasing constraints will not necessarily lead to the growing of all territories to the newly specified size. Territories will grow only if they improve the balance.

If your territories are not well balanced, then you can use Adjust territory parameters to make adjustments to the territories. Adjust territory parameters can be used if the initial automated creation produces less than ideal territory shapes or if you need to correct some territory settings. Adjust territory parameters starts the recreation of territories using their existing centers only. This allows you to change the settings of territories but keeps the same number of territories, territory names, and their centers. The main function of this command is for the territory size to meet all requested constraint parameters.

注意注意:

Adjust territory parameters destroys current territory shapes and recreates the territories according to the new constraints and other parameters. Optionally, this can create balanced territories.

For example, if territories are too large, maximum distance can be set to a smaller value, and territories will be rebuilt, accounting for this change. Centers and names of territories will stay unchanged unless you change them. You can use the Lock Territory command to keep satisfactory territories and adjust parameters for other territories.
