Populating the z-value with a bias

With the Populate Z for selected features tool, you can modify the z-values on existing features by adjusting them using a specified value. For example, if you indicate that the z-value should be adjusted by 10, the z-values on the vertices on the selected features are reduced by a value of 10.

Étapes :
  1. Start ArcMap.

    If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.

  2. If necessary, load data in the map.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing.
  4. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Z Management.
  5. Click the Production Start Editing button Production Start Editing on the Production Editing toolbar.

    The Manage Features and Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes windows automatically appear when you start an edit session using the Production Start Editing tool.

    If the Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes window does not appear when you start an edit session, click the Show/Hide Attributes button Show/Hide Attributes on the Manage Features window.

  6. Select the features whose z-values you want to populate using the Edit Tool button Edit on the Production Editing toolbar.
  7. Click the Populate Z for selected features button Populate Z for selected features on the Production Z Management toolbar.

    The Z Populate dialog box appears.

  8. Choose the Adjust Zs by value (BIAS) option.
  9. Type a value in the Adjust Zs by value (BIAS) text box.
  10. Click OK.

    A message box appears that indicates how many features were populated using the Populate Z for Selected Features tool.

  11. Click OK.

    A message box appears that indicates how many features were populated using the Populate tool.

  12. Click OK.
