Publishing S-57 cells

When you export from the geodatabase to an S-57 file, it is recommended that you run the S-57 file you exported through a third-party validation software. If the S-57 file is not flagged for any errors, you can use the Nautical Publisher to mark the dataset as published. This means that, depending on the S-57 product you exported (New Edition, Update, and so on), the EDTN and/or UPDN fields stored within the PLTS_EXPORTS table are increased by 1 or maintain the current value. Publishing the last exported record allows the subsequent export records EDTN and/or UPDN fields to be based on the last exported EDTN and/or UPDN value.

For example, say you just exported an Update dataset file containing a Buoy insert that increased the UPDN from 2 to 3, but you did not publish this exported record. A subsequent Update dataset file holding a Beacon insert will also increase the UPDN value to 3 instead of 4 since the first record containing the Buoy has not been published. In the Nautical Publisher dialog box, you would see two export records listed on the Publish tab, each with a UPDN value of 3. Whichever record you choose to publish, any data edits made after that record's particular time stamp would be part of the next export record's data. If you choose to publish the export record holding the Buoy insert, the next export record would hold the Beacon insert by default. If you choose to publish the export record containing the Beacon insert, then there would be no leftover data edits to be added to the next export record. In either case, the next Update dataset export record would hold a UPDN value of 4 since you published an Update export record with a UPDN value of 3.

Étapes :
  1. Start ArcCatalog.
  2. Navigate to and right-click the feature dataset you want to publish from and click Nautical Publisher.

The Nautical Publisher dialog box appears.

    Nautical Publisher dialog box

  3. Click Refresh.

The publisher searches for any changes to the PLTS_EXPORTS table that would change the cells listed in the Publish or UnPublish tabs.

  4. If necessary, click the Publish tab.

This tab displays the alias names for the DSNM, EDTN, UPDN, HISTORICAL_NAME, UADT, and ISDT fields in the PLTS_EXPORTS table.

  5. Check the row representing the export version you want to publish.

Check box next to Data set name

    RemarqueRemarque :

The Historical Name field uniquely identifies each export version by showing the date and time of when you exported. This means that all changes to the database up to the displayed date and time will be included in the S-57 dataset file. In the example above, when you publish one of these records, both records will be removed from the Publish tab, and all subsequent exports will change from the Edition and Update numbers. For example, if you were to publish the first record listed, then export the second S-57 dataset file record, when you opened the Nautical Publisher, the Edition number field would list 3 and the Update number field would list 0.

    RemarqueRemarque :

Historical information only applies to SDE databases. If you are using personal or file geodatabases, the Historical Name is not populated.

  6. Click Apply.

The record(s) are removed from the Publish tab, and the selected record is placed in the UnPublish tab.
