Running Reports for Single Layers

A number of standard demographic report templates are provided with Business Analyst. For more information on these reports, see the appendix. You can also create a general report that contains all categories. The Reports wizard uses summary data to create standard reports.

Choose a layer in your map with boundaries such as drive-time rings, equal competition areas, or even your own custom-drawn trade area. The demographics that fall inside the boundaries of the layer will be summarized in the report. For example, if you created a population report using simple ring trade areas as the layer with boundaries, your report would summarize the population data for each ring in the layer.

You can also create a report based on only certain boundaries of a layer. For instance, you might want to create a report using simple rings as the layer with boundaries, but you might only be interested in one or two of those rings.

You might also want to run a report for multiple areas in different layers all at the same time. For instance, you could have a layer that consists of a simple one-mile ring and another layer that contains a 10-minute drive time. You can now load both areas at the same time.

Étapes :
  1. In ArcMap, open the map you want to use to create a report.
  2. Click the Business Analyst menu and click Reports.
  3. You are given the option to run a report for a single area, run a report for multiple areas, or run a point- and ranking-based report.
  4. Click Run Summary/Demographic Reports.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Choose the boundary layer for which you want to run a report.
    RemarqueRemarque :

The Select ID option only appears when you load a boundary layer that was not created within the Business Analyst trade area wizards.

  7. If you are running a report on a trade area not created with Business Analyst, choose the layer ID. You will also need to define store and ring ID fields. Optionally, select a store name field.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Choose how you want to summarize data for your reports. You can select one of the following:
    • For Individual Features
    • For the Whole Layer
    • For both Individual Features and Whole Layer

For example, if you run a Population report on three different simple ring trade areas and choose the Individual Features option, the report will show the population for each individual ring on its own page. If you choose the Whole Layer option, a single report will total the combined population for all three simple rings.

  10. Choose the demographic report you want to run. You can choose one or more. Click the buttons in the middle to navigate through the templates. Click Next or Option.

Click Option to change the geography the report will be summarized by, where the report will be exported to, and the format if you need the data in a table exported. These options can be saved permanently, or you have the option to keep it for this time only.

  11. Choose all or one of the options for viewing the final report:

    • View reports on screen opens the report for viewing when it is finished.
    • Export report to file exports the report to the desired output from the Options button.
    • Print reports sends the report to the desired printer.
    • Create single report file combines multiple reports for the same analysis into a single report.

You can also choose to insert a map image if the report supports this option and add the report data back to an analysis layer.

  12. Click Defer this task to the Batch Queue to save this analysis to run at a later time, and give it a batch name.
  13. Click Finish.

Creating a stitched report—You can select Create single report file before completing the Reports dialog box. This function is helpful when you want to create two or more reports for the same analysis but don't want many individual files. The output is a combined set of reports in one file. You can then export to other formats from the Crystal Reports viewer.
