Batch calculating field values

When you are editing data, there can be instances where attribute values can be updated all at once for a group of features. This can be because the features may all have standard sizes, or the feature code may need to be updated for the features you have selected using the Production Advanced Query Command.

Pasos:
  1. Start ArcMap.

    If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.

  2. If necessary, load data in the map.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing.
  4. Click the Production Start Editing button Production Start Editing on the Production Editing toolbar.
    NotaNota:

    The Manage Features and Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes windows automatically appear when you start an edit session using the Production Start Editing tool.

    If the Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes window does not appear when you start an edit session, click the Link Feature Manager To Attributes Window button Show/Hide Attributes on the Manage Features window.

  5. On the Production Editing toolbar, click Production Editing > Production Advanced Query Command.

    The Production Advanced Query window appears.

  6. Build a query to select features.
  7. Right-click any column header, then click Field Calculator to batch calculate the fields in that column.

    The Field Calculator dialog box appears.

  8. Type the new value in the text box.
  9. Click OK.
