Saving data frame rules

Once you have configured rules for a data frame, you can save them to an XML file. This file can be applied to other map products.

Pasos:
  1. Start ArcMap.

    If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.

  2. Switch to layout view.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Cartography.

    The Production Cartography toolbar appears.

  4. Click the Layout window Layout window button on the Production Cartography toolbar.

    The Layout window appears.

  5. Click the Apply Data Frame Rules Apply Data Frame Rules button on the Layout window toolbar.

    The Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box appears.

  6. Click the Properties button Properties.

    The Data Frame Rules dialog box appears.

  7. Configure your data frame rules and click OK.
  8. Click Save on the Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box.

    The Export Rules dialog box appears.

  9. Navigate to a file location and type a name for the XML file.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Click Cancel to close the Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box.
  12. NotaNota:

    If you do not save your data frame rules and you click Cancel on the Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box, a warning message appears. The warning asks if you want to close the Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box without saving your data frame rule. If you click Yes, the Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box closes. If you click No, you return to the Apply Data Frame Rules dialog box, where you can save your rules.
