Adding map sheets to the map series

When adding map sheets to a map series, you must select the areas of interest (AOIs) you want to use to define the map sheets. Each AOI is used to define the extent of each map sheet. One AOI can be used for a single map sheet, and multiple AOIs can be used to create multiple map sheets. You can select AOIs from a feature layer in a data frame or from a geodatabase feature class. You can also create multiple map sheets over the current visible data frame extent. The AOI data source can be a polygon, point, or line feature class in a geodatabase.

NotaNota:

You cannot use a shapefile for your area of interest data source.
