Creating a simple map series
Building a simple map series
The Build Simple Map Series wizard guides you through the properties necessary to set up a basic map series. These properties include the map series name, storage options, page layout, and the data frame manager properties for scale and extent. Once the properties are defined for the map series, the map sheets are created and listed in the MPS Atlas window.
The main difference between this wizard and the Build Map Series wizard is that it defaults several of the properties during the map series creation process. However, once the map sheets are created and appear in the MPS Atlas window, you can access the properties through the Data Frame Manager properties.
The wizard is half the length of the more comprehensive Build Map Series wizard and follows the same sequence of events for naming the map series, choosing the data source for the AOI, choosing the data for the map series, choosing a storage method, and configuring the map sheet properties. The scale and extent for the data frame is the last part of the wizard.
