Intersecting geometries
The Multi-Dimensional Intersect tool planarizes geometries so that they are split at all intersections. Polygon geometries are converted to polylines. If points are included in the selection, then the line is split at any point that is within the snapping tolerance specified on the Feature Builder Settings tab.
- Start ArcMap.Sugerencia:
If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.
- On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing.
- On the menu bar, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Feature Builder.

Click the Launch Feature Builder button on the Production Feature Builder toolbar.
The Feature Builder window appears in ArcMap.
Sugerencia:The Feature Builder window can be placed anywhere in ArcMap, or in the TOC, with the aid of the arrows showing the possible placement positions.
- Verify that the Feature Builder Scratch dataset is loaded in your map.

Click the Production Start Editing button on the Production Editing toolbar.
Nota:
The Manage Features and Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes windows automatically appear when you start an edit session using the Production Start Editing tool.
Sugerencia:If the Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes window does not appear when you start an edit session, click the Link Feature Manager To Attributes Window button on the Manage Features window.
- Choose the Feature Builder Scratch database as your editing workspace.

Select a feature builder geometry.
The geometry should be a line or polygon.

Click the Multi-dimensional Intersect button at the top of the Feature Builder toolbar.
A series of line segments are created.
