An overview of the Schematics toolbars in ArcMap
Schematics functions are available from three toolbars: Schematic, Schematic Editor, and Schematic Network Analyst.
Many of the standard tools available from the ArcMap Tools toolbar can also be used in your schematic diagrams, such as the Select Features , Zoom In , Zoom Out , Pan , Full Extent , and Identify tools.
The Schematic toolbar
The Schematic toolbar provides you with the commands for opening, generating, and updating your schematic diagrams. It also allows you to access the commands for increasing/decreasing all the label and symbol sizes, as well as propagating selection from a schematic diagram to the map and vice versa.
The Schematic Editor toolbar
The Schematic Editor toolbar groups all the editing commands and tools for laying out and refining your schematic diagram's content. It also contains the schematic layout algorithms that can be applied to automatically lay out the diagram contents. These tools and commands are enabled for the active schematic diagram after an edit session is started on this diagram.
The Schematic Network Analyst toolbar
The Schematic Network Analyst toolbar contains the schematic tools to detect loops, paths, and connected schematic features in your schematic diagrams.
