SharePoint list layer feature retrieval

The ArcGIS for SharePoint Map Web Part can be configured to update features in an on-demand mode as you pan and zoom around the map. On-demand feature retrieval for Feature layers (ArcGIS Server and SDS layers) is now the default option for layers added through Browse and Search. When enabled, the Map Web Part will retrieve features for a feature layer within the current extent.

1. Open the Map Contents panel. For instructions, see The Map Contents Panel.
2. Select the layer in the Map Contents panel.
3. Go to the Layer tab of the ArcGIS Map Web Part to locate the Feature Retrieval group:
   • Checking Get features within map area will cause the features to update when the user interacts with the map by panning or zooming.
   • Specify the Cache Size to determine how many features are retrieved.
