Filtering the layer

Layers with an ArcGIS Server dynamic map service and Spatial Data Service layers can be filtered so that the only features being shown meet the filter criteria.

1. Open the Map Contents panel. For instructions, see The Map Contents Panel.
2. Select the layer in the Map Contents panel:
3. Click the Filter button on the Layer tab's Configure group of the ArcGIS Web part's ribbon:
4. The Specify filter expression dialog appears with the Query tab selected:
5. Click on the Data tab if you need to see a sampling of the data:
6. On the Query tab, enter the filter expression and click the OK button to update the layer.
