Setting layer transparency

There are times when you may desire to adjust the transparency of a layer. Layers that are partially transparent will allow the layers under them to be partially visible.

The ArcGIS Map Web Part provides an easy way to do this:

1. Open the Map Contents panel. For instructions, see The Map Contents Panel.
2. Select the layer in the Map Contents panel:
3. Locate the Transparency button on the Layer tab of the web part's ribbon and click Transparency to open the slider and locate the slider button.
