GeoRSS widget

The GeoRSS widget enables the Viewer application to be linked to a GeoRSS feed. When the widget is activated, it queries a GeoRSS feed and displays the georeferenced items as a results list inside the widget. Each item in the list can be displayed on the map. In the example below, the GeoRSS feed is from the USGS earthquake monitoring site.

Clicking one of the list items will make the map display zoom to its location. A GeoRSS symbol is placed at its location on the map with an Info Popup widget containing some descriptive information.

The Info Popup window also contains a hyperlink. When this is clicked, a new browser window will open displaying more information about the list item. In this example, more detailed information on the selected earthquake at the USGS earthquake monitoring site.
