Installation

Download the AppBuilder-2.5.air application from the viewer download page. The application builder requires Adobe AIR which can be installed from Adobe AIR download page.

Post-installation

The first time you run the application builder it will ask you for a Flex Viewer Directory (where to install your Flex Viewer applications) and URL (for that directory).

Note: you can click the Settings button on the initial screen if you later want to change this.

Security settings

On Windows 7

In Windows Explorer, navigate to where you installed Flex Viewer, for example c:\inetpub\wwwroot\flexviewers, right-click "flexviewers", select Properties, click the Security tab.

On Windows 2008 R2

In Windows Explorer, navigate to where you installed Flex Viewer, for example c:\inetpub\wwwroot\flexviewers, right-click "flexviewers"...

On Windows 2003

In Windows Explorer, navigate to where you installed Flex Viewer, for example c:\inetpub\wwwroot\flexviewers, right-click "flexviewers" ...

On Windows XP

In Windows Explorer, navigate to where you installed Flex Viewer, for example c:\inetpub\wwwroot\flexviewers, right-click "flexviewers" ...

Uninstalling

There are four aspects of completely uninstalling or removing the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex.

The application builder

The builder application itself is easily uninstalled in standard Windows programs style. Go to the Control Panel and uninstall "ArcGIS Viewer for Flex".

Application settings

The settings that you define on the Settings screen.

• On Windows 7 and Vista: delete the C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\com.esri.ags.AppBuilder folder
• On Windows XP: delete the C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\com.esri.ags.AppBuilder folder.

Any applications you created

Just like uninstalling Microsoft Office will not remove the documents you created, uninstalling the application builder will not remove any applications you created. To do that, go to your web server base folder. e.g. c:\inetpub\wwwroot\flexviewers and delete it.

Any other system changes

Any other changes you have done. Installing Adobe AIR, configured your web server etc.
