MapServer and its extensions can be published as a Web service for consumption by ArcGIS Desktop applications, as well as directly by developers. Not all of the MapServer interfaces and methods are supported over Web services. Only IMapServer and its methods can be called through the MapServer Web service. The following interfaces and their respective methods are not supported in a Web services environment:
