About working with animations
An animation is a visualization of the changes to the properties of an object, such as the map view or camera. Animations make your geographic data come alive by storing actions so they can be replayed as you choose. They can help you visualize changes in perspective, changes in the document's properties, and geographic movements. Use animations to understand patterns in data through time and to automate the processes that would be undertaken to demonstrate points that can only be made through visual dynamics.
For more information about the various types of animations that can be created using ArcGIS functionality, see What is an animation?.
Animations can be created using objects from the Animation and AnimationUI libraries. Animations are composed of Animation Tracks (IAGAnimationTracks), which are further composed of keyframes (IAGKeyframe). Keyframes capture or store the properties of objects over the duration of the animation.
For more information, see Object properties that can be animated.
