Add a traversal result to the map

PurposeNetwork Analyst solvers generate solutions as routes that are represented by a single feature. To analyze the individual network elements that make up those routes, the traversal result must be accessed. This sample shows how to take the traversal result from a completed network analysis and load it on the map.

How to use

See How to use ArcGIS samples for help on compiling, setting up the debugger, and running the sample. If the sample has associated data, you will find that the sample's zip file includes a "data" folder alongside the language folders. However, you will need to update the sample to point to the location of the data once you have extracted all the files.

  1. Compile the application.
  2. Start ArcMap.
  3. Click Customize, then Customize Mode.
  4. Click the commands tab.
  5. Scroll down to Network Analyst.
  6. Drag the tool corresponding to this sample up to the Network Analyst toolbar.
  7. Run a solve on a network analysis layer.
  8. Click the button for this sample to load the traversal result from the active network analysis layer on the map.
