Creates a NTv2-based transformation.

Description
The NTv2Transformation method converts between two geographic coordinate systems (datums) using a file. The method was created by the Geodetics Division of Natural Resources Canada and has since been used by several other countries including Australia, New Zealand, and Germany. The file format is documented online and a script exists that can convert information stored in a shapefile to an NTv2-format file. See http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=13654
Supported Platforms
Extended Error Information
Use the ISupportErrorInfo method InterfaceSupportsErrorInfo to determine if the object supports extended error information. If the object supports extended error info, VC++ developers should use the OLE/COM IErrorInfo interface to access the ErrorInfo object. Visual Basic developers should use the global error object Err to retrieve this extended error information.
Interfaces
Interfaces | Description |
---|---|
IClone (esriSystem) | Provides access to members that control cloning of objects. |
IGeoTransformation | Provides access to members that define a geographic (datum) transformation. |
IGridTransformation | Provides access to members that control the dataset name for a grid-based transformation. |
IPersist | Defines the single method GetClassID, which is designed to supply the CLSID of an object that can be stored persistently in the system. IPersist is the base interface for three other interfaces: IPersistStorage, IPersistStream, and IPersistFile. |
IPersistStream (esriSystem) | |
ISpatialReferenceAuthority | Provides access to the authority-related metadata for a spatial reference object. |
ISupportErrorInfo | Indicates whether a specific interface can return Automation error objects. |
ITransformation | Provides access to members that apply a function (or its inverse) to a set of points or measures. The suffix of each method indicates the type of parameters operated on. |
ITransformationGEN | Provides access to members that apply a function (or its inverse) to a set of points or measures. The suffix of each method indicates the type of parameters operated on. ITransformationGEN is generic version of ITransformation. |
IXMLSerialize (esriSystem) | Provides access to members that XML serialize and deserialize an object to/from XML. |
IXMLVersionSupport (esriSystem) | Provides access to members that help in serializing an object to different namespaces (versions). |
