Viewing service metadata

Map services contain metadata that contain information about the service. Metadata is information that describes content, quality, condition, origin, or any other characteristics of the data. Esri Redistricting Online lets you view the metadata for map services in your current session.

Steps:

1. Enable the Search panel by clicking the right arrow next to the scale bar to expand the side panel.
2. Click Content .
3. Click to highlight a map service you added to the map.

   The Tools ribbon expands to display additional tools.

4. On the Tools ribbon, click Service Details.

   A new browser window opens and displays metadata for the selected service.
