Displaying layer metadata

Map layers contain metadata that contain information about an individual layer. Metadata is information that describes content, quality, condition, origin, or any other characteristics of the data. Esri Redistricting Online lets you view the metadata for layers in map services are in your current session.

Steps:
  1. Enable the Search panel by clicking the right arrow Right arrow to expand the side panel next to the scale bar to expand the side panel.
  2. Click Content Content button.
  3. Click to highlight a map service you added to the map.

    The Tools ribbon expands to display additional tools.

  4. Click to expand a map service you added to the map.

    The layers for the service are displayed.

  5. On the Tools ribbon, click Service Details.

    A new browser window opens and displays metadata for the selected layer.
