Using the overview map
The overview map can be expanded at any time to provide spatial reference for your map display. As you work at small scales you can expand the overview map to understand the viewing location in relation to a larger map extent.
The overview map can also be helpful to view two different maps of the same location. For example the display map can show you street level data, while the overview map can show you an aerial view or topology of the region.

If the overview map is open, you can include the overview map in your map capture. See Saving map images.
